Sarlat’s Christmas Market

Sarlat is all dressed up with Christmas teddy bears and the holiday market is full of people sipping vin chaud (hot mulled wine) and contemplating gift purchases. We had thought vin chaud was an evening thing, but there people were, imbibing before noon!

Father Christmas (Père Noël) shows up on posters around town, but we didn’t see him in person.

We did see his village, however, where there is a mailbox for his letters… and live reindeer!

Was medieval beer really better?

They’ve been busy up at the North Pole with their laser cutters…

The skating rink offers these interesting beginner skates – reminiscent of the old-school clip-on roller skates of our youth
